Query Language Examples

The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. For example:

finds documents containing '1990' or 'Mack'

1990 or Mack

same as above

1990 and Mack

finds documents containing both '1990' and 'Mack'

1990 not Mack

finds documents containing '1990' but not 'Mack'

(1990 not Mack) and IHC

finds documents containing 'IHC', plus '1990' but not 'Mack'

finds documents containing words starting with 'rebuild'
